Fall Harvest Champs Classic - 2009
Twelve-year-old Kennosuke Nouchi
of Japan was the star of this year's event held at
The Grant Connell Centre
October 9-12. Kennosuke, unknown and un-seeded in the tournament,
surprised everyone with his play and won the Boys' 12 title.
Later, we found out that he is ranked 16th in Japan!

13-year-olds keep getting taller and taller. Daniel lost to Patrick Walker,
the winner of last year's event, 6-4, 6-4, in the Boys' 16 quarterfinals, and Eric lost to Benjamin Sigouin, 6-4,
6-4, in the U14 semis.

The Hoole family, all ten of them, came from Victoria to support
Austen and Brook Hoole. Austen lost to Eric Fought, 6-1, 6-4, in the
Boys' 14 quarters, and Brook lost in the first
round to George Luca.

visit. Gerard, is a former tennis coach
at the Grant Connell Tennis Centre, the
Hollyburn Country Club, and the West Van Tennis Club. It's good to see you back again,
Gerard.

lost in the Boys' 14 quarters to Mark Nguyen,
the eventual winner, 6-3, 6-2. Stacey beat
Mackenzie Campbell, 6-2, 6-2, to claim the Girls' 14 title, and
10-year-old Larry overcame Neel Phaterpekar in a close match, 8-7(5), in the Boys' 14
consolation final.

win the Boys' 16 title.
