BC high school championships 2006
Victoria Island, June 3 (Saanich News) - Oak Bay High tennis players celebrate their bronze
medal at the BC high school championships, Saturday June 3, 2006 in Vancouver by hoisting
mixed doubles winners Mai Iijima and Sam Ganong onto their shoulders. Greater Victoria put
itself back on the high school tennis map as Oak Bay High captured team bronze at the BC
AAA championships last weekend in Vancouver.
Oak Bay went in seeded 10th - they finished 10th last year - but defeated the Fraser Valley
in round robin play. They posted another upset win over Burnett from Richmond in the
quarter-finals before losing to top seed and eventual champion St. George.
