BC Junior Provincial Championships 2008
It's all smiles for Daniel and Natalie Raw, above, the winners of both singles and doubles
events, in the Boys' 12 and the Girls' 10 categories.
This year's Championships were hosted by
the
Jericho Tennis Club,
June 27 - July 1, 2008.

Trudie Du Toit and her brother, Charles. came to cheer for their
brother Riaan. Remember Trudie? She was one of the top players in BC and the runner up
of
last year's
U18 event. Trudie will go to the University of Oregon in September and will play
for their "A" division.

Zach, 6-2, 6-2, to win the Boys' 14 Singles. Zach later teamed up
with Todd Fought to claim the Boys' 14 doubles title.

Photo 6: Eleven-year-old Runjia Gan, the winner of the Girls' 14
Singles, has no backhand but only forehand. She switches her
racquet from left hand to right hand to play her strokes. She
also servers with both left and right.

serve in the finals of the Girls' 16 Singles. Anett beat
Madison in a close match, 6-4, 7-6.

sunny days at
the Jericho Tennis Club with its beautiful beachfront and a view of the
North Shore mountains.

and Sam Gouneili. Brendan's older brother Justin, the winner of last
year's event, lost to Ratan Gill in the Boys' 16 finals, 6-4, 6-4.
