BC Junior Indoor Provincial Championships 2011
Fifteen-year-old Tracy Dong, above left, and 16-year-old Riaan Du Toit won the U18 event at Hollyburn Country Club March 13.

Let our Archive takes you back in time.  It was 5 years ago, about this time, they both won the U12 event at the Junior Indoor Provincial Championships 2006.  Five years later they are still on top!

Photo 8: Does Size Matter?  Sam Gouneili, left, and Brian Bacinschi in the Boys' 14 consolation final. Having height can be advantageous, not only on serves but for net play. That's how Brian played. Smaller players often use placement, spin, and their fitness to overcome their opponent. That's how Sam played.  The winner this time was Sam, beating Brian 6-4, 6-4.
