Van Lawn Masters Indoor Championships - April 16-25, 2010
Jerry Turek , above right, beat Max Brown,
left, in a very close match, 7-6,
7-6, to win the final in the Men's 35 singles. Jerry, a doubles
specialist, also won the Men's 35 Doubles, with Julien Heine. This year's event, a warm-up for the Senior Nationals in Calgary the following week, attracted a record number of 391 players.

Steven made quick work of Doug in the Men's 55 semis, beating him 6-1,
6-1, but he
had to retire against Bill Purcell in the finals with back injury.

year's winner of the Men's 40 Singles, did not play singles this year,
but entered the Men's 35 Doubles with Dave Goldsmith. They lost in the

Stephen Kimoff, the winner of last two years' of the Men's 45
Singles, did not show up to play this year. This year we had a lot
of injured players, including George Lea who had to withdraw with right shoulder injury,
in the Men's 55. |
