BC Senior Provincial Championships - 2009
Bob Bardsley, above, serves to Ken Dahl to win the final in the Men's
60 singles of the BC seniors tournament June 6 to14 at the
Jericho Tennis Club.
Kenny had to retire when he was up 4-3 in the second
set. He lost the first set 4-6.

and this time around,
it was Ken, who beat George 7-6, 5-7, 6-1, to
capture the Men's 55 Singles title. George, later, won the Men's 55 Doubles with his partner Steven Yesowick.
Photo 2: Stephen Kimoff and Dr. Janet Thom enjoy a nice sunny day
at the club. Stephen beat Robert Exell, seed No. 2, 6-0, 6-0,
in the Men's 45 Singles final.
He is the man to beat.
Photo 3: Cora Wills and her husband Charles Wills. Cora beat Carol Pedlar
7-5, 6-0, to win the Women's 50 Singles. As for Charles, he lost in
the early rounds of the Men's 50.

Paul Shellard and Bob Langford. Bob beat Paul
in the Men's 50 Singles final, 6-4, 6-0. Bob Langford teamed up
with John Picken to beat Steven Yesowick and Paul Devine, 7-5, 6-3 to win the Men's 50 Doubles.
Photo 5: Meryl Ogden and Leslie Van Santen. They beat Ritsuko Mukai
and Makiko Taniguchi 6-1, 6-2 to win the Women's 45 Doubles.
Photo 6: Joachim Nierfeld was the winner of the Men's 40 Singles
title. He beat the lesser known player, Hannes Blum of Victoria, 6-2, 6-3
in the final.
Photo 8: Hubert Sigouin won the Men's 50 Singles Consolation.
His daughter, Alexandra, is a top ten player under 16 and his 10
year-old son, Benjamin, is No. 1 player under 12 in BC.
Photo 9: Rudy Derton, at age 78, is still an avid tennis player.
He is the man behind Capilano Tennis Club's
new clubhouse. Rudy
placed third in the Men's 75 Singles. Gordon Verge beat George Smith
to win the final.
Photo 10: Sharon Sauder beat Carol Lau 6-1, 7-5 in the Women's 40 Singles
final.
